Playlist: The Very Best of Hezekiah Walker

Sony's Playlist series splits the difference between being a downloadable set and an actual CD by releasing thoughtfully selected compilations of a single artist's work as an actual physical disc with minimal packaging (and at a reasonable price) while providing liner notes, photos, and other data as a PDF file. Here the Playlist treatment is applied to Hezekiah Walker, gospel singer and pastor of the Brooklyn-based Love Fellowship Tabernacle, favored by several big-name rappers. It's a pretty good musical portrait of Walker and includes his signature shouter "Love Lifted Me" among others. ~ Steve Leggett
