After scoring a major pop-crossover hit with her 2013 album Gold, CCM star Britt Nicole continues to focus on the mainstream with her uplifting self-titled fourth LP. Released by Capitol in 2016, the deeply personal album finds Nicole in glowing dance-pop mode on this set of songs about love, change, struggle, devotion, and family. Lead single "Through Your Eyes," offers a bright and motivating meditation on faith that could just as easily apply to more universal themes of self-perception and positive change. Other songs, like "Fallin' in Love" and "Girls Night Out," are more squarely aimed at the pop market, though the overall effect is of a well-balanced crossover that doesn't feel too calculated. ~ Timothy Monger
