With every rapturous beat, Ginny Owens and her sultry voice become more immortalized. The highly anticipated Get in, I'm Driving was one of the most relevant contemporary Christian releases of 2011. Dressed in slick, urban production, Owens' vocal mastery is practically sinful in the way she can wrap around a note with voluptuous control, such as on the effervescent "Rain." The bouncy piano riff on "Better Off" calls forth the best parts of Sara Bareilles and Vanessa Carlton. The gritty shoo-bop of "Lay It Down" summons another master, Alicia Keys, and her understated remake of "Higher Ground" simply draws chills.
