Heaven Is for Real: Songs Inspired by the Film & Best-Selling Book

A Christian book that was a New York Times best-seller in 2010, then hit the top of that list early in 2011, Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back was written by Todd Burpo (the father of the little boy in question) and Lynn Vincent and chronicles Burpo's young son Colton's near-death experience following emergency surgery in 2003. The film rights were purchased by Sony Pictures, and a movie with the same title appeared in 2014, starring Greg Kinnear and Kelly Reilly. This set features songs and recordings by contemporary Christian artists that were inspired by either the book or the film, and most likely both, and includes tracks from Casting Crowns, Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, and more. ~ Steve Leggett
