Released just under four months after their album Emerging Voices hit the shelves, Live from New York is a unique effort from Jesus Culture since it features the praise & worship group working with Martin Smith, former frontman of the U.K. worship group Delirious?. As such, Delirious? favorites such as "Majesty" and "Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?" dot the set list, all delivered with that Jesus Culture drive and passion (which has always seemed at least partly inspired by Smith's old group). It's Jesus Culture regular Kim Walker-Smith who offers the slow and majestic highlight "Walk with Me," while the pulsating rhythms that remind listeners of Coldplay or vintage U2 are back in full force. Fans of either Jesus Culture or Delirious? can get their fill here, and there's a good chance they'll consider themselves fans of both soon after. ~ David Jeffries
